Ross Institute Academy
Most of our education has been very ethnocentric but there’s a whole lot of history for the whole world that we need to know about. That’s the focus of the Ross spiral curriculum. This is very valuable for human education. —Kurt Fischer, Mind Brain Education Institute, Harvard Graduate School of Education
About Ross Institute Academy

Educational Leadership for the Global Era
Ross Institute Academy offers comprehensive training in the Ross Model; its intention is to positively affect student learning and to increase possibilities for systemic change. The Ross Institute Academy, with its direct access to Ross School, Ross Global Academy public charter school, Tensta Gymnasium in Stockholm, and Ross Institute, is uniquely positioned to teach others about best practices and applied theory for 21st century education. Through the Academy, a network of mentors, scholars and master teachers provide professional development in a variety of formats for educators and educational leaders at both new and established schools. The Academy distributes information about the Ross curriculum and best educational practices through Ross Network Schools, workshops, conferences and on-line mentoring. Working collaboratively and directly with school leaders, the Ross Institute Academy ensures that the schools it serves are achieving their desired goals and applying the Ross Model authentically and effectively.

Professional Development
The Ross Institute Academy works with schools, educational leaders and faculty members to disseminate the research and pedagogical practices that have been so successful in Ross Network Schools. Workshops for visiting school leaders and teachers on topics central to the Ross educational vision are offered at Ross School, on-site or, in the future, through online E-modules. Ross Institute Summer Academy is an annual conference held every August in East Hampton, New York. It is a time that leadership and faculty from Ross Network Schools come together to engage in professional development, stimulating dialogue and an exchange of ideas and practices. Educational researchers and scholars speak about and lead discussions related to their most recent work. Ross mentors also lead workshops based on the specific needs of each Ross Network School. The Ross Institute Academy also consults with school leaders and teachers interested in either adapting the Ross Model to their school or starting a school based on the Ross model. With guidance from mentors from the Ross Institute Academy, schools can move through an in-depth process in order to become an accredited Ross Network School. Being a Ross accredited school brings many benefits including: on-going professional development and access to Ross mentors, access to the Ross Wiki, increased student engagement and performance and access to the latest educational research.
